I’ve participated in court sports for as long as I can remember. In fact, my first memory of playing tennis is as a youth with my mom. She loved to play, so we shared many hours at the courts.
Later, my hubby, a competitive tennis player suggested I take lessons…I guess I was no match for him! Anyway, I did, and I enjoyed the sport greatly, but realized in my first tournament, that I was not a competitive player, I just loved to play for fun.
Now here I am MANY years later and can no longer move around the tennis court like I once did, but have discovered Pickleball, and I am in love! Still, not competitive, but I love to laugh and have fun with the game. We have met a lot of wonderful people on the courts, but with the current Shelter-at-home situation, miss the social aspect of the game. We have set up a very NON-regulation court in our driveway, and are keeping active playing in the driveway, while wearing my, “Let’s play pickleball, y’all” shirt.
